Travel requirements and procedures for Angola
A tourist visa is required to visit Angola and the Embassy of Angola requires applicants to apply directly to the Angolan Consulate. Travisa recommends that travelers contact the Angolan Consulate directly to obtain a tourist visa.
The application form and all relevant supporting documentation must be addressed to the Angolan Consulate to which the application will be submitted.
Passport Requirements: Original passport signed and valid for 6 months after stay, and with at least three adjacent blank pages for Angolan visa stamps.
Angola Visa Application Form: Two visa application forms signed by Angola. After you place your order, complete the application forms included with your Visa Request Package.
Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 color, front-facing, white-background passport photos. The applicant’s name should be written on the back of the photos. The Angolan consulate has strict photography requirements, men must wear a shirt and tie, and women must modestly cover me to the neck.
Invitation Letter: A letter of invitation from the sponsor in Angola (host or private company) to the specific Consulate where the visa application will be presented, explaining the relationship with the applicant and the purpose of the trip. In addition, the letter should indicate the length of stay, place of stay and contact information. The letter must include a declaration of financial responsibility for the host company in Angola (or the applicant must provide a personal bank statement). This letter must be written in Portuguese and must also have a notarized signature in Angola.
Proof of travel arrangements: A computer-generated flight itinerary of the airline or travel agency or a copy of an airline ticket showing the entry and exit of Angola.
Medical Requirements: Original or copy of the yellow fever vaccination certificate.
Proof of sufficient funds: Evidence of sufficient funds (minimum US $ 200.00 per day) to support stay in Angola. For example, a copy of the traveler’s bank statement.
Special Instructions: The application form, letter of invitation, business letter and all relevant supporting documentation must be addressed to the Angolan Consulate to which the application will be submitted.
Note: Applications must be submitted in person by the applicant, and fingerprints will be taken at the Consulate.
Appearance in person: New York: The Angolan Consulate requires all visa applicants to provide biometric information personally at the consulate, specifically fingerprints, as part of the application process. Payment at the consulate is made by the traveler directly to the Angolan Consulate Bank of America account in New York, the consulate will inform you the exact amount of the payment and instruct you to process it at a bank located near the consulate. Visa Validity: The validity of Ordinary Visas (issued to Business and Travel Travelers) varies depending on the individual circumstances of each case. The usual length of stay in Angola with this type of visa may not exceed 90 days.
Visa processing time: Visas for Angola are issued based on Angola’s approval. Processing time is usually 5 to 8 days. If special authorization is required, processing time may take up to 30 days. Emergency service may be available if the consulate has received prior approval and for an additional charge.
